As I start my essay, I would like to ask this question, Mom why is it
when I get a bad grade on my report card you both yell at me?
I try to tell you my excuse, but you look at me in discuss. What you
do not understand is that I try, but sometimes I may not get what I was
trying to achieve. At that time I feel disappointed in myself, which can
cause low self-esteem.
But in all I am proud of my parents as well JACC Modeling for
believing in me. Written by Dondra "Sheenah" Bogues
Dear Sheenah the reason we yell as parents is because we know our children can do better.
And it is hard out here in this world as children and as well as adults. We do not want our
children to believe that 60’s are passing grades. As parents we want the best for our children.
You have some parents that do not care. And sad to say, some parents think 60 is good for
their children just because it is passed by state laws.
They are lowering the standard as if we as African Americans can not achieve or comprehend
as well as others; so that is why we yell and fuss because we want the best for our children. In
my case anything under a 80 is failing in our household. I do not want my children to think c’s
and d’s are expectable because in reality they are not going to get you into a good college. I
trust you know you can do better to improve your grades. You are a good student and I want
your grades to match that.
There is more than hanging outside with friends. Their are some parents who do not care
about their children, nor care what they do. Written by caring mother Deidre Townes
